Minneapolis Office: Joel Dammann and Jeff Colquette
Joel Dammann has been with SPECTRUM Commercial Service Company since 2004. During his time at SPECTRUM, Joel has assisted an ever growing number of local businesses in obtaining the working capital financing needed for their companies. Joel has worked with a variety of businesses of various sizes and from a vast array of industries including manufacturing, distribution and service. The financing accommodations provided by SPECTRUM and Mr. Dammann have been used by startup businesses, companies that needed funding for growth and companies that are in transition, or involved in a merger or acquisition. Whenever commercial businesses are unable to secure traditional bank financing, Joel has been there to assist them in securing the financing they need with SPECTRUM.
During Joel’s tenure at SPECTRUM, in addition to the businesses he has provided needed financing for, he has worked closely with Banks, CPA’s, Attorney’s, Turnaround Professionals and other Service Providers to help them work through their client’s working capital issues. In a number of cases Joel has mentored and counseled various business owners on their financing needs, even when those needs were not an immediate fit with SPECTRUM. Joel prides himself in working tirelessly to find a home for each and every company in need of financing.
Joel received his B.A. Degree from St. Cloud State University in Accounting and then started to work for a Fortune 500 cleaning and sanitizing company. Subsequently, Mr. Dammann was involved in the commercial and residential window business working for a group of closely related companies. Joel went on to become a Part Owner, Director and CFO of one of these companies. Eventually, relying on his business experience, Joel began a consulting career working for a number of years with small to mid sized closely held firms helping them in a variety of situations. Joel is a member of the TMA, RMA and ACG chapters here in the local Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
When Joel joined SPECTRUM in 2004, he brought with him his years of experience in accounting, business ownership and consulting. Joel’s knowledge and skills have allowed him to further SPECTRUM’s goal of providing creative and competitive alternative financing solutions to businesses in need of working capital financing.
Jeff Colquette has been with SPECTRUM Commercial Services Company since 1999 when he started with SPECTRUM’s factoring and accounts receivable finance division. In 2001, Mr. Colquette became the manager of the factoring division, a role he continued until 2006. During his time with the factoring department, Jeff’s contributions were instrumental to the development of the various due diligence and day to day operating procedures which SPECTRUM continues to utilize.
In October 2006, Mr. Colquette transitioned to a credit analysis and sales and marketing role. As a credit analyst, Jeff uses his credit background and his analytical skills to complete a detailed initial due diligence report on prospective SPECTRUM borrowers. Jeff’s underwriting work forms the basis of SPECTRUM’s initial review of potential borrowers. Mr. Colquette’s sales and marketing responsibilities include working with community bankers in the Minnesota marketplace as well as loan brokers throughout the United States. Jeff works diligently to educate these broker and bank referral sources about the unique products that SPECTRUM offers for businesses needing accounts receivable financing or asset based loans.
Jeff received his BS degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in Marketing. After graduation, Mr. Colquette worked with Ford Motor Credit Company, the captive finance arm of Ford Motor Company. During his 9 year tenure with Ford Motor Credit, Jeff worked as a collections representative, marketing representative, and as a credit analyst for retail/commercial installment contracts and wholesale auto floor plans. Jeff’s prior work experience fits perfectly with SPECTRUM’s goal of creatively helping companies with their alternative financing needs.
